The city of St. is located in the northeastern part of the United States The pitcher who won the 1979 Cy Young Award has died. The man was 69.

The Baseball Hall of Fame confirmed the death. The cause of death was not given in the statement.

"Our father wanted to be remembered as a great teammate, but he was more than that," it said. He was a great husband to our mother for 50 years and he was a great father and grandfather. His love and passion for baseball can only be compared to his love and passion for his family.

One of the first pitchers to throw a split-fingered pitch was Sutter. He was a six-time All-Star and had 300 saves in his career.

He had his 300th save with the Atlanta Braves in 1988. He was a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.

Bruce will always be remembered for his 1982 World Seriesclinching save and signature split-fingered pitch. He was the first to change the role of the lateReliever.

The baby was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The Baseball Hall of Fame said in a release that he learned the split-fingered pitch from a Cubs minor-league pitching instructor.

His family includes his wife, three sons, a daughter-in-law and six grandkids.

Jim Kaat said he felt like a brother died. I knew Bruce better than anyone else. When your career ends, you go your separate ways after spending a lot of time with each other. We kept in touch and considered each other good friends.
