The manager of Manchester City believes that the Reds are still the biggest threat to their title defense.
The Reds are 13 points behind the second-place City in the race for the top spot.
Spurs are in third place, three points behind City, while the other two teams are in first and second place.
When asked about City's main rivals for the title on Friday, he said that they had always been.
He said he doesn't think the Reds can catch the top of the league.
Anything can happen now that we're in the position we're in.
I'm aware of the quality they have. I don't expect anything different from the game.
In the past five years, City have won four of the five titles, with the exception of the last one.
The Reds pushed City to the final day of the season twice in recent years, including last season when City came from behind to beat Villa and deny the Reds the title.
"Just a few months ago, they were competing for a prestigious situation in English football, four titles, they had more shots, possession, everything in the final and they lost," he said.
Things can happen if this is the same team.
It is part of the competition. I don't look at good or bad moments, I look at the best of them.
The fixture could be a title decider, but not with us.
In the past, they helped us to keep going, this season is different.
