The next location for the luxury brand of hotels is going to be a converted hotel.

Waldorf Astoria Hanoi opens 2025

The opening of the brand's first location in Vietnam will take place in the year 2025. The hotel will have four dining concepts, including a rooftop lounge and two other restaurants. A spa, fitness center, and pool will be located at the hotel.

The Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake are a short walk from the hotel. The property is one of 10 that will open in Vietnam in the next decade.

The first few images of the property can be found below. As of now, Hanoi doesn't have a lot of luxury hotels.

This is a conversion of the Hilton Hanoi Opera

It is for good reason that the hotel looks similar to the other ones. This is a conversion of an old opera house. There are 268 guest rooms at the hotel. Rooms will likely be made much larger, with the room count decreasing, as it sounds like the hotel will be completely redesign.

The pictures below give you a sense of how much will change. The hotel will close on December 1, 2022, so that it can be renovated for two to three years.

One cannot talk about the hotel without mentioning the name of the prison where many Americans were held during the Vietnam War. The hotel had no relation to that.

Bottom line

The brand will be opening a branch in Vietnam. The hotel will replace the opera after it undergoes renovations. I am looking forward to checking out this property in the near future, as it is cool to see a luxury points brand expand.
