Barcelona will wear the logo of Canadian rapper and singer Drake on the front of their jersey in Sunday's LaLiga El Clasico at Real Madrid to celebrate the fact that he is the first artist to reach 50 billion streams on the service.

The club welcomed Spotify as their main sponsor in March and have been promoting a number of artists since then, including Drake, who is the first artist to make it onto the shirt itself.

For a limited time, Barcelona will wear Drake's logo on the front of their jerseys, giving them an odd resemblance to Wednesday's old crest.

Barcelona will wear a limited edition shirt with Drake's owl symbol on it for the first time against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu on Sunday.

The 35-year-old wrote that it didn't feel real but it was.

When a photo of Drake wearing a shirt with Barcelona on it was shared on his social media accounts, he wore it publicly. Memphis Depay, a budding hip-hop artiste, suffered a minor meltdown after seeing the image.

It's not the first time that a headline musician has collaborated with a football club with many pop, rock and hip-hop stars finding their names on shirts in the past.

The Rolling Stones have their own line of Paris Saint-Germain merchandise which includes football shirts as well as weird items such as moped helmets and skateboards.

This season's third strip and a couple of consecutive home kits feature Ed Sheeran's trademark mathematical symbols, as well as being buddied up with the local celebrity fan.
