  • Pelosi worried that he was still in the Capitol building.

  • She told them not to let anyone know where they are.

A video released by the House panel investigating the Capitol riot shows the camaraderie between Speaker Nancy Pelosi and former Vice President Mike Pence as they tried to figure out what to do.

The video, which CNN obtained exclusively from the January 6 select committee, shows Pelosi getting on a call with Pence from a secure location in which she and other lawmakers were being held during the riot. The garage under the Capitol was being used to hold the vice president.

Can you tell me how you are? Where are you? In the video, Pelosi reassured Pence that he was very safe.

It could take days to clear the Capitol but there were places the House and Senate could meet to certify the election.

Pelosi told Pence that she was worried about him being in the Capitol building. Don't tell anyone where you are.

According to The New York Times, Pence was under a lot of pressure to overturn the election. At his Ellipse rally on January 6, 2021, Trump said that he wanted Pence to do the right thing and have courage.

During the riot that started after Trump's speech, protesters chanted "hang Mike Pence" Therioters who were storming the Capitol narrowly missed the family.

According to sources with knowledge of the matter, Trump was in favor of the idea of hanging the vice president.
