Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green came back to practice on Thursday after a week away from the team.
Green was fined by the Warriors for the incident. He will play in the final preseason game for the Warriors against the Denver Nuggets on Friday and will be ready for the season opener.
Green said that they had conversations about what they needed to do. We aren't going to hold onto the past.
Green said he is in a better mental state now than before he left, but he didn't give any details on what work he did during his break.
According to Green and head coach Steve Kerr, there was no awkwardness surrounding the team on Thursday.
The Warriors had meetings with the front office, members of the coaching staff and prominent players before welcoming Green back.
The Warriors brought Green back once the players approved it. Even though the team is ready to move forward, Green acknowledged there will be residual feelings about the altercation.
After announcing that Green would return to basketball activities, Kerr said that the culture had been damaged. You have to do something to fix that. The team's trust was broken by Green.
Green said he had a lot of work to do before he stepped away from the team.
Making sure our team camaraderie is right is what it's about. It's possible to tell when a team has good camaraderie if you play against them. Our camaraderie does not get veryshaken.
Green said that the Warriors' stability is due to their core and mutual understanding of what it takes to win.
Green wants to navigate his relationship with Poole in a certain way.
Both Jordan and I are professionals. We have a job to do and we are going to do it. I'm not sure. I don't believe there is much relevance. We are paid to do a job and we will do it to the best of our ability.
