The MLB world was a little surprised when it was announced that Correa would sign with the Minnesota Twins. The former rookies of the year were expected to go to a big market and compete for a world series. He signed a three-year deal with an opt out clause after the first and second seasons. As of today, he accepted the offer. For the second year in a row, Correa will be a free agent. It is clear that he wants to play in a bigger market. Since he was already set to make over $30 million a year in Minnesota, it seems unlikely that he would choose to sign with the Orioles. We think he could land here. Anthony Rendon was given a huge contract by the Angels prior to 2020 and Shohei Ohtani was given a huge contract by the Angels before he was even born. It would probably make more sense for the Angels to focus on pitching, but another splash in a loaded market could potentially give Mike Trout and Ohtani some protection in that lineup. It would cost the team a lot, and given how poorly the Rendon deal has turned out, it's likely that the Angels won't risk another huge investment like that. The last season with both Trout and Ohtani could be coming up with Ohtani not yet signing. One final push to be competitive in a division with both the Astros and Seattle is on the table, as the team doesn't want to waste two generations of players. The Angels were forced to rely on Andrew Velazquez, who slashed.196/.235/. 304, because they were unable to focus their efforts on guys like Nathan Eovaldi, Tyler Anderson, or Chris Bassitt. He would be a huge upgrade on the offensive side of the ball. The Angels have enough money to make it happen. They don't need a reason. Dansby is free to sign a new contract. The Atlanta Braves won the World Series last year and are back in the playoffs. The Braves have made it clear that they want to keep Swanson in Atlanta for the foreseeable future, so signing him should be the team's top priority. The Braves finished 22nd in MLB with -1.3 WAR from the position and were near the bottom of the league in WAR from their designated hitter spot. The Atlanta Braves were the only team in the playoffs with positive WAR from their designated hitters, but the SeattleMariners and ClevelandGuardians were the only teams with negative WAR. At the World Baseball Classic, where he played third base for Puerto Rico, he was an ideal fit to play in the infield. This would give each player more time off the field or out of the lineup, which would make the Braves even more dangerous in the second half of the season, and would be a great way to prevent injuries. The Braves missed more games due to injury than any other team. If the Braves don't want to spend the money, they could always hope that Marcell Ozuna bounces back from his abysmal 2022. The money tied into Ozuna is too much for the Braves to waste with him on the bench. Alex Anthopoulos would be the one who would probably be the biggest deterrent. Another person who can opt out of their contract is XanderBogaerts. A replacement would need to be found for the four-time All-Star if he left. That role could be filled well by Correa. According to Boston, re-signing Bogaerts is a top priority, but should that deal fall through, they would be the perfect landing spot for Correa. It would be a step down for someone who wants to compete for a World Series, considering how difficult it is to win in the American League. Correa has a career.980 OPS in 23 games at Boston, and he has a built-in relationship with Alex Cora. The Rogers Centre in Toronto is the only ballpark in the American League where Correa has played more than eight games. In Boston, his OPS-plus is 133. Boston seems like it would be a good place for Correa to succeed alone. It isn't the best place to chase a title, but it is a big market and a good place for right-handed hitters. Another star player could potentially leave town. The Dodgers have shown the least interest in bringing Turner back to the team. Some people think that the chemistry that Turner has built up with the likes of Mookie Betts will keep him in L.A. If the Yankees can't keep Judge, the ex-National would be a good second option. Turner has an extensive history in the outfield, which would make him a perfect replacement for Judge. This isn't about a person. Without him in L.A., the Dodgers could shift their attention to someone else. The Astros and their fans didn't like the fact that the Dodgers cheated them out of a World Series title, but that didn't stop the Astros and their fans from throwing shade at the Dodgers. He was going to make a lot of money if he sold gear. It is said that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. The Dodgers love making big splashes in free agency. The Dodgers would not be able to provide both a big market and an opportunity to play for a World Series title if they wanted to. They will probably give him the most money. There is a big market. Check to see if it's true. A playoff team with a hole in the middle. Check to see if it's true. The Philadelphia Dodgers had a -1.2 WAR from their shortstops. In less than 100 games, he played. They found a way into the playoffs even though they had a terrible relief team. Imagine what they could do with their teammate. If the Phils want to compete with the Mets and Braves in the future, they will have to shore up their middle infield, which has been an area of concern for a long time. After spending a lot of money in a loaded market, they can afford to be a little less expensive in the relief department. The Phils could solve two of their biggest issues by only spending high-end money on one player. Philadelphia has an opportunity to make the biggest impact this off-season in a relatively quiet way, and that makes them a prime candidate to make a move of this magnitude. 7/7 The Lakers, Nets, 76ers, Clippers, and Pelicans would have a lot more recent playoffs if reality reflected NBA 2K. Will Zion and Leonard be able to help the Clippers and Pelicans this season? Will the team increase in size? Who is going to suffer a decline? Despite no head coaching experience, Matt Rhule was hired by the Carolinas to be their head coach.
