We've been using Microsoft Office for more than 30 years. The company's suite of tools is taking on a new, somewhat familiar name: Microsoft365.

The change was made at the conference. In the next few months, Office.com, the Office mobile app, and the Office app for Windows will get new looks and icons. There are a lot of similarities between Microsoft Office and Microsoft365. Microsoft Office is a one-time purchase, as well as access to upgrade, is the biggest of these. The latest version of Microsoft Office is included in the plan of people who subscribe to Microsoft365.

Microsoft Office was released in 1990 and has been around for a long time. Even though the new purple Microsoft 365 app logo is pretty, I want to play a melancholy violin solo.

Microsoft said it will still offer one-time purchases of apps like Word, Outlook, and Excel for Office 2021 users and Office LTSC plans. Retirement is what it means at Microsoft.

At the event, Microsoft's corporate vice president for modern work,Jared Spataro, revealed that the Microsoft365 app will have a number of new features. It will allow people to quickly access files shared in meetings and be a hub for all user files.

The Microsoft executive said that the company was launching a feed in the Microsoft 365 app which would allow users to see things such as their meetings of the day or updates from people they follow.

Spataro said that the new Microsoft 365 app is reflective of the innovation the company has striven to deliver as work and life continue to evolve. The new app serves as a hub for all the productivity apps Microsoft offers and provides a simple, yet powerful experience for our customers as they navigate changing workstyle and collaboration patterns.

In November, Office.com will be the first place users will be able to use Microsoft 365. The Office app for Windows and mobile will be changed in January.

Everyone who uses the Office app for work, school, or personal use will be affected by the changes. That doesn't mean you have to do anything or that something will explode on your end.

There will be no impact to your existing account. The company stated on the FAQ page that there will be changes to the app in November and beyond.
