How 'evolving' Arsenal are going from strength to strength (1:30)

After the game with Bodo/Glimt, there was praise for the performance of the team. The first part of the story is over.

Aspmyra Stadion was the venue for the Bodo/Glimt game on Thursday night, and it was where the winning goal was scored.

A quiet first half saw few chances created by either side, but in the 70th minute, a shot from Albert Sambi Lokonga was saved by the goalkeeper, but the rebound went into the net for the winner.

The hosts had a lot of chances to get back into the game. Runar Espejord should have done better with his finish after he found space on two occasions.

In a bright spell from the Eliteserien side, Mikel Arteta's tactical change that introduced Granit Xhaka saw the Gunners defend in a back four more frequently, and that looked to ease the pressure in a bright spell from the north London side.

There is a viewers guide for LaLiga, MLS, FA Cup and other sports.

Positives

A hard-fought victory over Bodo/Glimt put them in a strong position to qualify for the Europa League.

Negatives

There was a dangerous spell in the second half that was fortunate to not end in defeat. They need to be switched on against tougher opposition.

Manager rating out of 10

Arteta's squad was balanced on the night and his substitution timing was perfect. Bodo/Glimt couldn't get in behind the changes of shape and introduction of Xhaka made it difficult for them.

The USMNT keeper didn't have much to do in the first half, but he was alert when the team looked to play behind the defensive line. In the second half, a stop was made.

William Saliba looked unperturbed defensively and he had plenty of the ball as the team showed patience in their attacking approach. The 21-year-old had a good passing range with his balls.

Rob Holding made a number of clearances on a night when the opponents constantly tested him with balls in behind, but he was slow to react at times against the counter attack, and he made a mistake that allowed Pellegrino to get through on goal.

It's a good thing for a centre-back that the 25-year-old didn't seem to capture the attention in the match. White made good decisions with his forward passes.

When Arteta changed to a back four, the Scotland international looked strong, stopping the flow of attacks from developing down his flank.

Albert Sambi Lokonga was in charge of the game from the middle of the field. The assist was picked up by him. A top performer in the country.

Bright down the left flank and looking to challenge his defender when in possession. He got some crosses into the box, but couldn't find his target.

Vieira kept things moving in the middle and wasn't involved too much going forward. The former FC Porto player did a good job.

The England international troubled the opposition's defense in the first half. He earned his reward after the work he put in before the goal was scored. After the restart, it was quiet.

Eddie Nketiah stretched the play with runs in behind, but attacks broke down on a number of occasions. In the second half, it was isolated.

Substitutes

Granit Xhaka was expected to play well from the middle and help restore control over the match.

FW Gabriel Martinelli Stretched the play down the left flank in a moment when the players were looking to counter. He was not getting on the ball enough.

He lacked cutting edge with his final ball. Too many times.

He looked flawless in his 20 minute appearance.
