After accusing Russia of using both homemade and Iranian-made "kamikaze drones", Ukraine is requesting more weapons from its Western allies.

According to CNN, Ukraine is accusing Russia of using small, self-destructing drones to target its capital of Kyiv.

The report states that Iran tried to sell drones to Russia. Russia's military bought some of them and began training service members how to use them.

The Ukrainian military says it shot down drones made by Kalishnikov.

Remote Detonation

Kamikaze or suicide drones are disposable and meant to blow up upon detonation, which is why they are called.

The US military claims that Russia's drones have already experienced numerous failures.

In late September, a Department of Defense official told reporters that "the idea that these drones represent some technological leap forward, frankly we're just not seeing it in the data."

Ghosts and Switchblades

Iran is being accused of training the invading soldiers how to use the weapons by the Associated Press. It is possible that Russia is running out of its own drones.

The Department of Defense told reporters earlier this week thatUkraine's desire for air defense systems has been re-emphasized by the drones.

The technology is being used by other sides of the conflict. According to CNN, Ukraine has its own homemade drones, but has mostly relied on its allies for remote weapons support.

Confirmation that we've entered a new era of warfare can be seen in the number of drones being used in Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
