According to a company press release, the OneUI 5 is ready to come out of public alpha testing in the coming weeks. New modes and a more personalized lock screen are included in the highlights. You know what it sounds like. That's okay! These are some of the best features on the iPad and it's not hard for them to be copied bySamsung.

If you long press your lock screen, you will see options for wallpaper and clockface, similar to what Apple does. A short video clip can be used to make a wallpaper. New color and graphic options are available for your home and lock screen.

The name "Bixby" is missing from the front of the Routines feature, which has been expanded to recognize more situations to kick start automations. There is also a new feature calledmodes. They are designed to keep distraction to a minimum for different activities. Like Focus modes. There is a new smart suggestions widget in OneUI 5 that offers usage based app and action recommendations.

There is an interesting feature in the release that is new to me, that allows you to answer and communicate with a caller via text. Your text is read to the person who calls and their voice is converted to text. It seems like it would be a good way to take a phone call. It could be useful if you don't like talking to strangers on the phone. You spitball here. The feature isn't available in the US until early next year. It might be possible for Apple to copy the work of another company here.

When it arrives in the next few weeks, the OneUI 5 will likely be available first to the S22 series, Z flip 4 and Z fold 4 before it is available to older flagships and mid-range devices.
