Another GOAT is being received by Major League Pickleball.

Just over a month after King James announced plans to buy a baseball team, Tom Brady decided to do the same.

Brady holds the most Super Bowl rings of any quarterback and James is considered the best challenger to Michael Jordan's GOAT status in his sport.

Brady, a seven-time Super Bowl champ, has joined with retired tennis star Kim Clijsters in the leadership of an ownership group that has purchased an expansion team. The sport has seen an explosion in popularity in the last few years and they are joining other celebrities in embracing it.

Brady and Clijsters are buying from Knighthead. Callie Simpkins, a bond saleswoman for the Royal Bank of Canada, is part of the group. 50% of the team will be female.

The financial terms were not made public.

The prize money will be increased and the league will be expanded from 12 teams to 16. More than 60 people have expressed interest in investing in the new teams.

There is a fusion of two sports. The number of people who are enthusiasts in the US has increased by 15% in the past year. Some fitness club chains want the sport to be the center of growth.

Kim Clijsters said she was excited at the investment opportunity. I am excited to help shape the future of the sport and make an impact on it.
