Davante Adams, a wide receiver for the Las Vegas Raiders, was charged with assault after shoving a photographer to the ground.
The charge was announced by the Kansas City police.
Adams pushed the photographer to the ground as he walked off the field to the locker room.
The photographer was taken to the hospital to be treated for a number of injuries.
Adams spoke with reporters after the game and apologized to the photographer.
I apologize to the guy, there was a guy running off the field and he jumped in front of me, and I pushed him, and he fell down. I wanted to apologize to him because he was running in from of me. I should have responded in a different way. I would like to apologize to him.
On social media, the star receiver apologized.

According to the Associated Press, Adams is facing a possible fine and suspension from the National Football League, which is still reviewing the incident.
In the loss to the Chiefs, the 29-year-old caught three passes for 124 yards and two touchdown. The Raiders are off to a poor start and have fallen into a big hole in the division.
In five games, Adams has caught 29 passes for 414 yards and five touchdown. If he is suspended, there will be more pressure on the two guys. Albert Wilson will probably get more playing time.
After their bye week, the Raiders will play the Houston Texans.
