Users will be able to set Microsoft Teams as the default video conferencing software with the update to the video conferencing hardware. The first six devices to be certified to work with Teams will be in the first half of next year.

The Webex video calling software, which was paid billions for a little over a decade ago, isn't going anywhere. The release states that the devices will continue to support joining Webex meetings. Building in native support for Teams and allowing it to be set as the default is a way to recognize how many businesses rely on Microsoft software.

Regardless of device or meeting platform, customers want collaboration to happen on their terms. With support for Microsoft Teams, there will be two upcoming headsets and a 4K camera on the market.
