President Joe Biden warned not to underestimate the Russian leader despite believing that he made a grave mistake by invading Ukraine.

Biden said in an interview that he thinks he is a rational actor who has miscalculated.

One of the largest assaults against the country since the invasion began in February took place a day after his comment. The strike was thought to have killed at least 19 people.

On Tuesday, Biden and the leaders of the Group of 7 nations met with Zelensky to discuss how they could strengthen the air defense of Ukraine.

"We will continue to provide financial, humanitarian, military, diplomatic, and legal support and will stand firmly with Ukraine for as long as it takes," the G7 leaders said.

Putin's threat of nuclear war came after Biden characterized him as a rationally thinking leader.

The prevailing winds can turn in a person's direction if they try to blackmail them with nuclear weapons.

Experts and world leaders have been discussing what to make of Putin's threat.

Biden said last week that it was the highest level of threat since the Cuban missile crisis because of the military's performance.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that Putin's comments were dangerous and reckless.

According to analysts, Putin's threat should raise concerns, but the chances of a nuclear war still remain low.

The director of the Nuclear Information Project at the Federation of American Scientists told Insider last month that the threats reflect a change in Putin's rhetoric, but that it's still not known if it means a change in actual planning.

He said that people should be "extraordinarily concerned" and that "very deliberate efforts" should be made to convince Russia of the consequences of the conflict.

Biden questioned the Russian leader's decision and said that if he thought the country would fold he wouldn't have made it.

During Tapper's interview, there was tension between Biden and Putin after the anchor asked the president if he would be willing to meet with Putin at the G20 Summit.
