Jim Cramer says investors will be 'rewarded' when the Fed finishes hiking interest rates

Cramer said that good things will come to those who wait for the Fed to stop raising interest rates.

There is no giving without getting. He said that right now the give is that you get your portfolio all going down. You will be rewarded with lower inflation and lower rates. The give phase is what we are in at the moment.

The S&P 500 fell for a fifth day in a row while the Industrial Average was little changed.

The producer price report, consumer price index and retail sales report will be released over the course of three days. Wall Street expects the data to shed light on whether the central bank will continue hiking rates or the economy will go into a recession.

The consumer price index is the only thing the Fed cares about right now. Cramer said those numbers are potentially bombs.

If the data shows the economy is cooling, investors should not allow temporary rallies to give them hope. He said that the bears were in charge.
