There is a new Frontier out there.
On Tuesday, Frontier Airlines held a splashy event at its maintenance hangar in Florida to unveil its first A321neo.
The new engine option of the Frontier jet features greater fuel efficiency and more range than the previous generation of narrow-body aircraft.
The A321neo will be added to the fleet by the end of the decade. The parent company of Frontier has a total of 743 outstanding orders from the Toulouse-based planemaker.
If the neos are included, the airline has more than 200 aircraft on order. Frontier can use the A321XLR to fly to Alaska, Hawaii, or even across the Atlantic from the East Coast.
The neo family of jets offer 20% better efficiency than their predecessors.

The A321neo can achieve 120 miles per gallon per seat with Frontier's dense passenger configuration.
The introduction of the A321neo into our fleet is an important step in our company's sustainable goals. They are the most fuel efficient aircraft in use by major U.S. airlines and can deliver immediate reductions in fuel consumption, carbon emissions and engine noise.
