After it was reported that Musk had been in contact with Putin, the CEO of the two companies slammed them down.
In response to the claims, Musk said that he had only spoken to Putin once. The topic was space.
This response runs counter to reports from Ian Bremmer, the founder of the Eurasia Group, who in a note to subscribers claimed that Musk had been speaking with the Russian president regarding the invasion of Ukraine.
Bremmer said in the note that he had discussed the purported peace talks with Musk a few weeks prior, and that the Russian demands were mirrored by the billionaire's now-infamousTwitter poll.
The poll was viewed favorably by the Kremlin, with officials joking about their affection for Musk.
In the subscriber note, Bremmer said that it felt important to write about what's happening.
Musk said that it would be pointless for him to speak with Putin since there is no overlap between Russian and Ukrainian demands.
It should be noted that Musk was reported to have spoken with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky in March of this year, despite the fact that it's not clear which figure is lying.
