  • She lost her wedding ring in her front yard before the storm.

  • After searching the yard for three days before the storm, she lost hope that she would see the ring again.

  • She said her husband found the ring while cleaning up.

She doesn't usually take off her ring.

Three days before Hurricane Ian slammed into Florida's west coast with catastrophic winds and storm surge, she put her ring on a chair in her garage. She was going to use a punching bag to work out.

It's not normal for me to take off my rings. I sleep with them and don't take them off.

A day later, she realized her ring was missing. She only found two rings, not her wedding ring, when she looked for the chair after it was moved.

She said that it was out of her control that it meant so much to her. If I couldn't locate it, I couldn't do anything else.

A group of people, including a husband and three children, searched the front yard of a home after they were frightened.

As Hurricane Ian moved on from Cuba, the family searched for a couple of days.

If we don't find the storm now, I'm okay with that. I'm not a person who buys things. I let it go and forgot about it.

One of the hardest hit areas was Fort Myers Beach. There was a surge of water. The family went outside to clean up after the storm.

When she saw her neighborhood was destroyed by Hurricane Ian, she didn't think about her wedding ring.

When you walked out of our front garage, it was like a giant tree branch. You were unable to walk. There were trees on cars.

While the full scope of Hurricane Ian's destruction is being assessed, losses have been predicted to fall between $28 billion and $47 billion, making it Florida's costliest storm since Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

A shocking discovery was made ten minutes into the cleaning up.

The ring was found in the brush by the house. The husband gave the ring to their oldest son so he could give it to the man who was cleaning up the tree branches outside.

I did not think it was true. I was given it by him. She said that she screamed and then sat down.

She told Insider that she thought her wedding ring coming back to her was a sign that things would improve.

I just wanted to thank God for providing and showing us hope, because it's devastating seeing all of the homes and Fort Myers Beach completely gone and lives lost. It gave me a sign that everything would be okay, and that we needed to keep pushing forward.

She said she wouldn't take her ring off again and she would make her husband buy her a new one if it hadn't been found.
