Shim details accusations of sexual coercion that led to Riley confrontation (2:25)

She talks about why she decided to speak out about her alleged sexual misdeeds. The documentary, E60: Truth be Told, is now available on the Disney channel. There is a time and a place for it.

The owner of the NWSL's Portland Thorns and MLS's Portland Timbers said he is stepping down immediately.

The Yates Report detailed systemic emotional and verbal abuse, as well as sexual abuse, within the Thorns' organization.

The Portland Thorns are an example of what can be done in women's sports. A successful team is built on trust, equality and accountability and I am holding myself accountable for not doing enough.

He apologized to the Thorns' players, the organization and the community for the mistakes they made.

He was stepping away from the Thorns' activities. The organization will conduct a global search for his replacement after he made that move permanent. His statement didn't say if he will sell the Thorns or the Timbers. He and the teams now have another layer of management.

The Thorns were in the Yates report because of their handling of sexual harassment allegations against their manager. The accusations were reported by The Athletic.

The Thorns players and I worked hard to make sure that didn't happen again.

The Thorns were involved in more than what Riley is accused of doing. While the Thorns terminated Riley for cause, the report detailed how the club publicly described the manager's departure as a nonrenewal of a contract due to results and Riley's desire to return to the east coast. Riley got a job referral from the Thorns' president of soccer when he applied for the managerial position with the Western New York flash. The report states that after Riley was hired, Paulson said to the flash, "Congrats on the Riley hire." I am very fond of him.

According to a recent report, if Riley withdrew, it would be a good idea. The way in which he left the Thorns could become public. Shortly afterwards, Riley withdrew his name from consideration.

The Thorns delayed the sharing of documents and did not make certain witnesses available in order to impede the investigation.

The goal of creating the shining example of a women's sports team has now become synonymous with predatory behavior. Someone else needs to take the reins of the organization and operational decision-making and I need to be held accountable for that.

Thorns' sponsors and players publicly castigating the club after the Yates Report. The organization's president of business, Mike Golub, was also terminated.

"It's my opinion that every owner and executive and U.S. soccer official who has failed the players and failed to protect them should be gone."

The National Women's Soccer League Players Association's Support the Players Emergency Trust and to youth sports in the Portland community were beneficiaries of Alaska Airlines redirecting its sponsorship funds for the Thorns and Timbers.

If the organization makes meaningful, institutional changes, the association will only reconsider future sponsorship.

If the organization makes meaningful institutional transformation that help lead to positive systemic change, the Union Wine Company will no longer sponsor the Timbers or Thorns.

Heather Davis will stay on as interim president and CEO. The search for a permanent CEO will be led by Sarah. The players will have a meeting with the final candidates.

The organization is at a crossroads and the future is not clear. Ensuring the long-term health and success of the Portland Thorns is of paramount importance to me as I know it is for our players and the community.

It will take time to finalize the correct path. I love this organization so much that I think getting it right is more important than anything else.
