The transfer portal was busy this year, with a lot of players changing programs. The 2022-23 women's college basketball season will be about how they adjust to their new surroundings.

There has been a lot of change since our last rankings. Four of the top six did not pick their next school at that time. Tennessee and Maryland are still big winners, but schools such as Arizona, LSU, and Virginia Tech have benefited the most from the portal since our rankings.

What has happened to things? At the end of last season, LSU didn't look worthy of being ranked, but now they are a top-four team in the SEC and have the potential to make a run in the Sweet 16. South Carolina needed a point guard, and they got one in Kierra. Both Virginia Tech and Louisville need to score on the perimeter.

Some players on the list might not put up gaudy numbers, but their predicted impact on their new team, whether they filled a specific position or brought leadership and experience, was weighed heavily.

The top 30 impact transfers.

This is the first thing. Angel Reese is a member of the LSU football team.

Reese's decision to leave Maryland was the most talked about story of the summer. She was the most highly rated recruit in the history of the school and led the team with 17.8 points and 10.8 rebound per game. Now that she's the foundation of the program in Baton Rouge, the Tigers can be a serious challenge to LSU and Tennessee in the SEC. Reese can affect the defensive end. One of the best teams under Kim Mulkey had a dominant post player. In her second year at LSU, the coach has one.

There are two Owosu is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

Similar to Reese's move to LSU, Owosu to the Hokies completely changes their outlook. Virginia Tech was a potential first-team All-American without her. The Hokies can win the conference and make a deep run in March. There will be plenty of opportunities to make plays with Owosu and Amoore in the backcourt.

There are three.

She gets more rebound production out of her size than any other player. A year ago, Blackwell ranked second in the country with 13.0RPG and was the leader in Missouri with 15.4PPG. She was suspended for three games late last year for undisclosed reasons, which seemed to signal the end of her career. The Bears need a quick influx of veteran talent to hold off challenges to their streak of 12 consecutive Big 12 regular-season titles.

There are four. Rickea Jackson is a member of the Tennessee team.

She was leading the SEC in scoring when she left Mississippi State. She gives the Lady Vols the kind of scorer they didn't have a season ago because of the talent around her. With Jackson on the opposite side of the floor, Tennessee will have a better offense.

There are five. The girl is 6-1, G, so she's from Maryland.

The blow was softened by the fact that Reese and Owosu decided to transfer. The Millers could form one of the highest scoring duos in the country if she is fully recovered from her shin injury. During his time with the Gators, he averaged 19 points per game.

There are six. Saniya Rivers is a member of the NC State women's basketball team.

A year after winning a national championship with South Carolina, the player of the year decided to transfer to NC State. NC State has more opportunities for playing time than the veterans on the Wolfpack. She can make a difference in the competition.

There are seven. Morgan Jones is a Gr.

The transfer portal has been used for the second year in a row by Jeff Walz. The plan resulted in the Cards reaching the Final Four. Jones was a huge success after he transferred from Florida State. She averaged more than 13 points per game last season.

There are eight. The Diamond Battles are from Georgia.

Battles will have to be the leader and player if Georgia is going to compete in the SEC. Battles, who was the American Athletic Conference player of the year and defensive player of the year, could have entered the NBA draft, but chose to follow Abrahamson-Henderson to Athens.

There are nine. Lauren Fields is a graduate of the University of Arizona.

Fields was the main transfer that Adia Barnes wanted to bring to the team. Fields struggled as a 3-point shooter at Oklahoma State, but she is an aggressive player at both ends and averaged more than 15 points per game last season. The backcourt scoring punch it lacked a year ago should be given by Fields and Jade loville.

There are ten. The girl is from South Carolina.

With the graduation of Destanni Henderson, the defending champ was without a proven point guard. If highly regarded Raven Johnson, who missed most of her freshman season with a knee injury, isn't completely ready, then she should provide insurance because she is coming off a foot injury.

There is a new date for the 11th. Jones is from Texas.

Jones missed most of last season with an injured shoulder. She gives the Longhorns a scoring post presence because she is closer to her home. Before the injury, Jones was on the verge of becoming one of the best players in the conference and had a career average of 12 points and 7.7 boards with 57.8% shooting.

Jasmine Powell is a member of the Tennessee basketball team.

Powell might be the most important player in the transfer haul because of her position. She will be in charge of meshing new faces on the court. Powell was a double-figure scorer in each of her three years at Minnesota and was averaging 5.7 assists through 19 games last season before she left the team.

13th Scalia is from Indiana.

Scalia could have meant a lot to the Hoosiers if he had been a part of the team. Scalia, who was 11th in shots from beyond the rim, averaged 17.8 points per game.

The 14th. Dre'Una is a member of the Bears.

After NaLyssa Smith and Queen Egbo moved onto the WNBA, the next phase of the program was put in the hands of two people. She has been successful in her previous stops. She was Kentucky's second-best player behind Rhyne Howard last season with 16.9 points and 8.2 rebound per game.

There are fifteen. Chrislyn Carr is a graduate of Louisville.

The combination of Carr and Van Lith makes for a small but potentially dangerous back court. The well-traveled Carr will be counted on as a top scorer for the Cards, and she has already done that in the conference. In his two seasons at Texas Tech, Carr averaged 14.2 points and was a 37.2% 3-point shooter.

A new date has been added. Jasmine Franklin is a member of the Gr.

The Lady Vols have tried to build the same way Pat Summitt did, with rebound and defense, so she knows where to look for more of both. Franklin, who was recruited to Missouri State byHarper five years ago, tore herACL in December and missed the rest of the year. A healthy Franklin will make Tennessee even more dominant on the glass.

17th Esmery is a native of Arizona.

After committing to LSU, she changed her mind and decided to join the Tucson team. She was a first-team all-Big 12 choice at West Virginia in 2021, and her presence should make Reese and Ware even more dangerous.

There is a new item on the market. The girl is from Maryland.

The Big Ten shouldn't have to deal with an adjustment period for Myers. In the NCAA tournament, she scored 29 points and beat Rhyne Howard. The unanimous choice for Ivy Player of the Year was Meyers, who averaged 18.7 points per game for the Tigers.

18. Morris is from Texas.

There is a proven veteran in Morris who can score with consistency, which is something that hasn't been found at Texas. Morris averaged 17 points per game in her last three seasons. Morris is an adequate deep shooter but does most of her damage inside the 3-point line.

A new date. Taylorsoule is from Virginia Tech.

Prior to the first addition of the rankings in April, Soule hadn't even said she was transferring. She could make a big difference in the race. In her final three seasons at Boston College, she averaged over 15 points per game and was the most improved player. While not a 3-point threat, Soule is a defender who should draw double teams away from Kitley.

A new day has arrived. The girl is 6-3, G, Jr.

After two years at Oregon, she is returning to her home state. The team that went to the Elite Eight and Sweet 16 in the last two seasons may not be as good as the one that lost graduation. Scalia isn't quite the shooter that he is but that doesn't mean he doesn't offer a nice complement.

There is a new date for this event. Miss Collins is from NC State.

Collins has the ability to step out and shoot 3-pointers, as well as mix it up physically, which should allow her to replace the production of Jones. After the loss of one of the program's all-time greats, Elissa Cunane, she joined another transfer, River Baldwin, and a holdover in the rebuilt front court.

There is a new date for this article. The girl is from Maryland and is 5-5, G, Gr.

Pinzan is one of five transfers at Maryland this season, but she might be the one to pull the lineup together. She averaged 5.1 assists per game in her four seasons at South Florida, but she isn't the shooter that Benzan was.

There is a new date for this. Myah Taylor is a member of the Ole Miss basketball team.

After the graduation of Las Monk, Yoletthonda McPhee-McCuin will need to find a new point guard and production to keep building on her success. Madison Scott and Angel Baker will become even bigger scorers with the help of Taylor, who led the SEC with 5.4 assists per game.

The following is a list of 25. Shaylee Gonzalez is from Texas.

The final piece to the Final Four puzzle for the Longhorns is strong with the ball and confident. Texas now has three guards who can score and distribute. Last season, she averaged 2.3 SPG and 18.3 points per game.

There is a new date for this event. The girl is from Miami.

South Beach is where the NIL and social media opportunities are for Haley and her sisters. The team that might have been in rebuilding mode now has a chance. As a sophomore, Haley was the player of the year in the Mountain West and was an all-Mountain West selection. She averaged over 20 points per game last year.

There is a new date for this event. Fair is a graduate of Syracuse.

If Fair leads the conference in scoring, it won't be a big deal. Fair followed coach Felisha Legette-Jack to Syracuse after three years at Buffalo. Fair should have plenty of time to hunt her shot with so many defections from the Orange in the past two years. Fair launched more field goal attempts.

A new day is upon us. Lauren Ebo is a student at the University of Notre Dame.

The team would have a lot of offensive talent. The Irish lacked a physical presence. After leaving Texas, Ebo decided to go to Notre Dame. There should be plenty of scoring with Ebo setting screens and anchoring the middle.

29th Lou Lopez-Senechal is a graduate of the University of Connecticut.

Lopez-Senechal's role got bigger because of the absence of Bueckers. Lopez-Senechal has the ability to get her own shot and score from long range. She was the MAAC's Player of the Year in the year she was there, so her success could translate to the Big East.

A new day is upon us. Aliyah matharu is from Florida.

With so much youth on the roster, duplicating 2021-22's surprising season was going to be hard for the Gators. One of the three could have been on this list, but Matharu was the leading scorer for the Texas team in the Elite Eight. She can carry a team in short periods of time.

Also considered were: LaDazhia Williams, LSU, Greta Kampschroeder, Michigan, and Dru Gylten.
