Meta has been added to Russia's list of terrorist organizations.

The federal financial monitoring service of Russia was behind the move.

The decision means that all services provided by Meta will be cut off in the country and Russians won't be able to use them.

The Russian anti-war movement Vesna was put on a list of organizations involved in terrorism.

Meta did not reply to Insider's request for comment.

Russia's tech regulator blocked access to Facebook in March, accusing it of discrimination and saying the social-media platform had restricted user access to government-backed news outlets.

Russia's Prosecutor General's Office requested for Meta to be labeled as an "extremist organization", according to Tass.

Posts that called for violence against Russian invaders were temporarily allowed by Meta, according to a report.

According to Tass, a court in Moscow rejected Meta's appeal after it was found guilty of being a fascist in Russia.
