Travis Kelce's 2nd TD pulls the Chiefs closer (0:26)

The first pitch-and- catch touchdown of the game was scored by Patrick Mahomes. There is a time and a place.

This kind of victory leaves the Kansas City Chiefs with the feeling that they are never out of a game. The Chiefs overcame a 17 point deficit to defeat the Raiders. The offense scored at one point on five straight possessions with four of them being touchdown catches.

After jumping to a big lead, the Chiefs had to work harder for their victory over the Bucs.

The Chiefs scrambled in the final seconds of the first half to get a 59-yard field goal from Matthew Wright in order to gain some traction. It was the longest kick in the history of the stadium.

The correct decision was to go for 2 and make it a two-score game in the fourth quarter. The win probability with the extra point attempt was 87.4%.

There were two punts and a missed field goal for the Chiefs in the first quarter. Maxx Crosby had a couple of sacks. The Chiefs figured out a protection scheme that worked and led five straight scoring drives, four of which were touchdown passes to Kelce.

Randy Moss had four touchdown catches in a "Sunday Night Football" game against the Bills in 2007, but that was the last time a player had four in a prime-time game.

The next game is at Buffalo. It's Sunday.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders are not prepared for prime time. It wasn't after blowing a 20-0 halftime lead to the Arizona Cardinals and then losing to the Kansas City Chiefs. There would be a learning curve, no doubt, with a new coach bringing his offensive system to Las Vegas, which was a playoff team last season and added an All-Pro receiver in Davante Adams. The Raiders went for a 2-point conversion and took the lead with 4:27 to play. The Raiders went into their bye week with a 1-4 record.

The biggest hole in the game plan is the defending Kansas City Chiefs tight end. Kelce has been a killer for the Raiders, so he wasn't going to sneak up on them. He scored four times against the Raiders, giving him 11 career scores. Will the Raiders cover him or not?

Predicting bold for next week, the Raiders have decided on an offensive line. It was the 10th different starting O-line for the Raiders this year. The Raiders have been looking for the right guys in the right position and they have their lineup. It might be possible.

Carr hit Adams for a 58-yard touchdown on the first play of the game. Carr's 200th career passing score was 50 more than Ken Stabler who was second on the list. Carr threw for 241 yards with two touchdown and no turnovers. His biggest contribution was the roughing the passer penalty and two deep PIs on underthrown balls to Adams.

The roughing the passer penalty that was called on Chris Jones in the second quarter was a pivotal play. Jones should have had a sack and Carr should have tackled him. The Raiders kicked a field goal instead of retaining possession. There were six penalties against the Raiders after the call.

Last season, Carr was just 1-for-4 when throwing to an open/ wide-open receiver. His first-quarter touchdown to Adams was at 35 air yards with 3.3 yards of separation.

The next game is against the Texans
