It's getting there when it comes to the size of group chats, but it has always been a little tight.

The company increased group size to 512 people and added the ability to share larger files. The group size has been doubled again.

Users can add more than one thousand other people to a group in the latest version of the app. It's safe to assume that the feature will be released more widely soon, since it's only available to a limited number of people.

One step closer to Telegram, which allows for large groups of hundreds of thousands of people, is the small change that has been made.

Big groups are of little use if you can't properly manage them, but there is good news on that front. New tools that should give admins more ways to deal with large groups are being worked on. A membership approval system and a list of pending group participants allow group admins to approve all of the people at once.

These are just some of the improvements that are in the works. Communities was launched in a limited release in August.
