Tennessee starting safety Jaylen McCollough was arrested on Sunday and charged with felony counts of assault and battery.

An arrest warrant states that officers responded to a call at 3:20 p.m. The time is on Sunday. A man told officers that he had been drinking with friends in an apartment and left to get things from his car. He knocked on the door of the wrong apartment and nobody answered.

The man apologized to the residents after opening an unlocked door and realizing he was in the wrong building. The victim said a man followed him after he left the apartment.

The victim apologized and said he didn't have to say anything, according to the report. He heard footsteps as he left. He was punched in the face at the top of the stairs. He fell down the stairs.

A man and woman helped the victim to his feet after he regained consciousness. There was blood on the stairs. The victim's teeth were missing and he had blood on his mouth.

The residents of the apartment did not answer the door when officers tried to reach them. The woman who helped the victim in the car identified herself as the victim's girlfriend.

Police said that she called back to the scene and that he had blood on his hand. The 21-year-old was arrested for not answering officers' questions.

The man from Georgia was released from jail on Monday.

The Tennessee spokesman declined to speak to the sports network. Josh Heupel is going to speak with reporters.

The four-year starter is tied for fourth on the team with 23 tackles. He made seven tackles in Tennessee's win over LSU.
