The Braves signed Spencer Strider, a right-handed pitcher, to a six-year contract worth $75 million.
There is a $22 million club option for 2029 and a $5 million buy out.
The company will make $22 million per season for the next ten years. If the option is exercised, the deal will be worth $92 million.
In his first full season with Atlanta, Strider went 11-5 with a 2.67 earned run and 202 strikeouts in 31 appearances. He has recorded at least 10 strikeouts in a game six times this season, including two last month.
The record for fastest to 200 strikeouts in a single season was set by Strider, who struck out 200 in 130 appearances.
According to a report in The Athletic, the Braves are hopeful that Strider will be ready for the NLDS against Philadelphia.
