There is a chance to earn free night rewards with a number of Amex cards. The certificates are valid at almost all of the properties in theHiltonHonors family. Free night certificates can only be used for stays on weekends.

The certificates have been valid for stays any day of the week for the next two years. The change is permanent, so the free night rewards will be valid for seven days a week in the future.

Frequent miler noticed that this was listed at the bottom of the statements on the American Express cards. The marketing on these certificates seems to have changed.

The change will add value to these certificates in the long run. I think this is a reflection of the fact that business travel is still nowhere close to being recovered, so many hotels might have higher occupancies on weekends than on weekdays, and therefore the redemption costs for these certificates might be cheaper on weekdays.
