Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports reported that the Atlanta Falcons are trading Deion Jones to the Cleveland Browns.
According to Ian Rapoport, the Falcons were open to trading Jones for a long time.
Jones was placed on injured reserve by the Falcons because he was still recovering from shoulder surgery.
Jones didn't play a game this season and was supposed to be a backup in the middle of the defense.
The injury to Anthony Walker Jr., who tore his quad, and the injury to Chris Odom, who tore his knee, left the ClevelandBrowns in dire need of some help at the weak side LB position.
Jones had been with the Falcons for seven years and was selected in the second round of the 2016 draft. He had one of his best seasons with the franchise in 2017: he had three intercepts, 10 pass breakups, one sack, 138 tackles and 10 tackles for a loss.
