Without their star quarterback, the Dallas Cowboys are still winning. The defense has been one of the main reasons why.
The Dallas defense smothered the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday and led the way in a 22-10 win.
The first one returned for the opening score and the second one sealed the game. Matthew Stafford was picked off one time. Special teams blocked a punt during the game.
The Cowboys are 4-1 and have been impressive.
Ben Rogers @BenRogersCowboys defense is so damn good. Dan Quinn is a bad mofo. He can never be allowed to leave for any reason.
RJ Ochoa @rjochoaThis Cowboys defense is relentless.
Newy Scruggs @newyscruggsThe #Cowboys gave Dorrance Armstrong a new contract this offseason when Randy Gregory signed with Denver for $70M.
Gregory is out with a knee injury for the #Broncos. Armstrong has played better. Witness today in LA: blocked punt and a strip sack that led to a TD. @NBCDFWSports
Todd Archer @toddarcherThat's the second straight game a Cowboys opponent has started a drive inside the Dallas 30 and not gotten a point. Impressive stuff from this defense.
Jared Sandler @JaredSandlerCooper Rush is going to improve to 5-0 as a starter (4-0 this year) & that's a great story...but the Cowboys aren't winning because of him, other than TO prevention...The Zeke-Pollard combo has been massive. Obviously this defense is something else w/ the diverse pressure ability
(Foots The King) @FootsDaKingNaw I can’t lie I’ve never seen a Cowboys defense this good.
I’ve been a fan for a long time this is scary
Kevin Gray Jr. @KevinGraySportsIt’s time to declare that this Cowboys defense is, barring injury, a legitimate championship defense, this defense is for real!
Pat Doney @PatDoneyNBC5The Cowboys defense has only given up 5 touchdowns in over 19 quarters this season. The dominance continues.
Jordan Schultz @Schultz_Report#Cowboys have as complete a defense as you’ll see. Every level is not only stacked, but disciplined and rallying to the football. They’re so fast and hungry too. Fun 2 watch. Dan Quinn very happy to say the least.
Cooper Rush can play the role of game-manager because the Cowboys have a stifling defense and run the ball well.
What did the result look like? The stat line on Sunday was a ho-hum 10 of 16 for 102 yards. The backup quarterback has made it three in a row.
The Rams have lost two in a row. They were held to 19 points in those losses. They have scored only 29 points in their three losses. It's reasonable to wonder if the L.A. offense has lost any juice.
