A flight instructor from Sweden was killed in Virginia when a student made an error that caused the small plane to stall and crash.

According to the Daily Mail, Viktoria Ljungman began a flight lesson with two students at Newport News-Williamsburg International Airport, where she worked as an instructor.

According to a statement from Virginia State Police, the plane crashed after the 18-year-old tried to pull it up at too steep of an angle.

Two people, including an 18-year-old student, suffered life threatening injuries. There was a death on the scene.

Ljungman was a member of the tennis team atHampton University. She got her license in April.

Two students are taking aviation lessons as part of a partnership with the Rick Aviation Flight School.

She was remembered as a risk taker by her college roommate.

Two of our students were involved in an unfortunate accident this afternoon. The exact cause of the crash is under investigation.

We have no further comment at this time, out of respect for the students and their family.
