New records obtained by The Washington Post show that the initiative to transport migrants to northern states may have gone beyond what Florida intended.

Two planes full of migrants were flown to Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts, after the governor made it clear that Florida was not a sanctuary state. The move was a cruel political stunt. New records from the Post show that he may have used a new Florida program.

According to the Post, the "relocation program" was launched in July to "relocate out of the state of Florida foreign nationals who are not legally in the US."

The two migrant flights originated in San Antonio, Texas, and the Post reported that the administration paid a charter airline $600,000 to fly them from Texas to Martha's Vineyard. There was a payment of $950,000 for an additional flight that was later canceled.

New records are at the center of a criminal investigation and a civil lawsuit. The relocation program is accused of violating state law because it originated in Texas.

He claimed during a press conference that most of the migrants are intending to come to Florida.
