"Unreal" is a new addition to the ever-growing list of elite celeb deep fakes.
The fake star on TikTok is dressed in everything from sweats to suits, and references his famous movies, dances, and jokes about lowering the toilet seat lid in order to appease women. The deepfaked character has over 7 million followers and over 3 million likes.
The account's comment sections show that some people are confused by the fake version of the actor.
Is that not him? One undecided user asked Him? I travel back and forth.
"Keanu is a bit pigeon toed and has an interesting method for telling deep fakes from the real deal," wrote one digital sleuth. This isn't him.
I don't know if I'm the only one who remembers when they warned about fakes. A different person commented " anyone?"
The account doesn't clarify what tech it used to build the mask, but some users think that it was made using Unreal Engine 5.
The account is called Unreal and has a bio that reads "Parody, Life and Enternal youth" between "unreal" and "parody". It's likely that we'll see more of these accounts in the near future because people don't always read the fine print. There has been at least one case of a deep fake star fostering dangerous misinformation.
He doesn't seem to be using his power for bad things.
