The team that lost to England in the Euro 2020 final has been drawn in the same group with England.

Group C hasUkraine, North Macedonia andMalta.

Group A will include Spain, Norway, Georgia and Cyprus.

In Group D, Wales will face Croatia, Armenia, Turkey and Latvia, and in Group H, Northern Ireland will face Danes, Finns, Luxembourg, and San Marino.

The Republic of Ireland is in a tough group with the Netherlands, France, and Greece.

There were gasps when England were pulled out to face Italy and the Italians had just won the Euro 2020 final.

North Macedonia defeated Italy in the World Cup play-off in March.

In 1992 and 1996, Scotland qualified for the European Championships, which were delayed by a year because of the coronaviruses epidemic.

After finishing top of their Nations League group and being promoted to the top tier of that competition, they are guaranteed a play-off place.

Scotland will face Erling Haaland when they play Norway.

Wales reached the semi-finals of the European Championship.

The only home nation that didn't make it to the finals was Northern Ireland.

How does it work?

Three groups have six teams in them. Croatia, the Netherlands, Italy and Spain have been placed in the smaller groups.

The top two teams in each of the 10 groups will get to play in the Euros.

Germany will be the host of the Nations League play-offs.

The groups start and end on the same day.

Switzerland is part of the group I. Kosovo, Israel, and others are located there.

Group J includes Portugal, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and other countries.
