Michael and her crew are going on a quest to find an ancient power that has been lost for centuries. Indiana Jones appears to be the main influence of the new season, with other hunters looking to get the treasure, shoot outs, and bazaar. There is a puzzle that will be the key to the whole adventure.
Three new cast members will be added to the fifth season. Rayner is described as a captain that holds a clear line between commanders and crew. Expect him to clash with Michael and impede the search for the artifact.
Non-Starfleet threats include hunters L'ak and Moll. The ex-con who turned to a life of crime is named L'ak, and the ex-con who turned to a life of crime is named Moll. They will be a problem throughout the season if they are just in it for the hunt or if they have a Bonnie & Clyde thing.
Star Trek Discovery will come back to Paramount+ sometime in 2023.
