DC is adding an Ultra tier to its Universe Infinite comic book subscription service that will allow you to read comics in digital form just one month after they hit store shelves. DC doesn't know how much the new tier will cost after it launches on Monday at an introductory price of 99 per annum.

Users have to wait six months for a new comic to hit. The new tier is more expensive than the standard subscription option and could make it more attractive to fans of comic books.

DC is throwing in 5,000 exclusive titles from Vertigo, DC Black Label, and Collected Editions, bringing the total of available comics to over 32,000 for Ultra subscribers. If you upgrade to the new tier, you will be able to get a free comic book, starting with The Death of Superman 30th anniversary edition, which features an exclusive cover designed by Ivan Reis.

The new Ultra tier could help the DC Universe Infinite compete with other companies. The Plus plan came with exclusive merchandise, discounts on Disney's online shop, and other perks, in addition to its standard $9.99/month or $69/year plans.
