Vegas showgirls describe shock of stabbings that left 2 dead

The victims of a quick series of stabbings on the Las Vegas Strip described the shock and horror of the unexpected attack on a group of showgirls and others outside a casino.

Police arrested Yoni Barrios after they say he stabbed eight people and attacked four showgirls.

Barrios told police that some of the victims had laughed at him. He will be charged with murder and attempted murder.

Victoria Caytano was released from the hospital Friday after she was treated for a stab wound.

Caytano told KLAS-TV that he ran after getting up. I yelled, 'he has a knife!'.

The two people who were killed were identified by the coroner's office. Hallett was stabbed in the back and DiGiovanni was stabbed in the chest.

Cheryl Lowthorp is the owner of the Best Showgirls In Vegas modeling and talent agency. Two of the agency's employees were wounded and a third escaped without injury.

Performers said he made them feel uncomfortable when he approached for a photo and one backed away. He stabbed one woman in the back.

Anna Westby and Caytano were with DiGiovanni when Barrios attacked them.

She told KLAS-TV that she was screaming. He stabbed me in the back after catching up to me.

Model and showgirls are provided by Best Showgirls in Vegas for various promotional events. The models have been with the agency for 12 years and have not had a problem.

There are cops everywhere and it's a safe job. The Las Vegas Strip is where most of the films are made.

Barrios was covered in blood when he was taken into custody. The knife was seized by officers.

Barrios apologized to one of the victims before he stabbed him in the back, and he hoped police would shoot him, according to the report.

Barrios didn't have a lawyer who could comment on his behalf. He was held without bail when he appeared in court. There was an initial court appearance on Tuesday.

According to the arrest report, Barrios told police that he came to Las Vegas to move in with a friend who wouldn't let him stay at the house, so he packed his things and took a bus to the Las Vegas Strip.
