Jodie Whittaker will no longer be a part of Doctor Who in a few weeks. The Doctor will face off against the Daleks and The Master in the upcoming Power of the Doctor special. She needs to go out with a bang since this is her last role.
The sci-fi series doesn't have much of a presence at New York Comic-Con, but that didn't stop the BBC from releasing a trailer for the third and final special. The previous Doctors will be making a return along with current companions John Bishop and Dan Lewis. Tegan and Janet were partners to Doctors Fourth and Fifth.
The franchise will be celebrating its 60th anniversary after Power of the Doctor. The Fourteenth iteration of the Doctor is played by Ncuti Gatwa, who is joined by his new companion Rose Tyler. David Tennant and Catherine Tate will be returning as the 10th Doctor and Donna Noble. The epic 60th anniversary special will feature both Doctors of the past and future, as well as the return of Russell T. Davies, who was the show's creator.
The Doctor Who mysteries are likely to remain mysteries until we get closer to 2023. This new era of Who will be ushered in by The Power of the Doctor when it premixes on October 23.
