There are still lots of A380s in the sky, but the future of the superjumbo is questionable. It has been almost a year since an airline took the last delivery of four-engine aircraft, and no new ones are planned.

With the possibility of the giant jet becoming an air travel relic, Airbus seems to be leaning into its popularity with an auction you might want to check out.

The A380 will be auctioned off from Oct. 13 to 15. It will be possible for you to own a piece of the superjumbo when fewer of them fly in the future.

Airbus A380 auction

The proceeds from the sale of parts of an old A380 will be donated to charity. You can bid on almost any part of the plane in the auction.

The outer part of the plane is up for sale, but the majority of the cabin is being auctioned off.

You will have a lot to choose from, from the fan blades in the jet to the actual seats, lights and equipment.

The bar in the business class cabin of the A380 is an icon. If they are AvGeeks, that would be quite an item to show and talk about.

It won't cost a lot. The winning bid is estimated to be 20,000 to 30,000 euros. It is likely that the cost will be between $20,000 and $30,000 due to the dollar's strength against the euro.

The bar is not the only part of the A380 that can be found in your home.

The bench is about a tenth of the cost of the bar, but will still cost you a small fortune.

If you haven't been able to get your hands on an airline beverage cart in the past, now is your chance. The current exchange rate means that the bidding is close to the equivalent of dollars.

Bottom line

At least one airline executive has expressed hope about a renewed future for the A380, but it doesn't seem likely given that the manufacturer stopped production on any new versions of the superjumbo this summer.

They will be in the skies for a long time.

There is no better way to remember the aircraft than to own a piece of it.
