He missed the first month of the season after being shot twice during an attempted robbery.
Robinson had a chance to be the starter if Rivera had deployed his running backs during the preseason.
Robinson ran for 57 yards and one touchdown on 14 carries in two preseason games. There were big plans for him when he was resting for the preseason finale.
Rivera said he was "fired up" about Robinson's impending return, and Rapoport noted that the Commanders are looking to limit Robinson to about 20 snaps on Sunday.
As a senior in 2021, Robinson became the clear No. 1 option out of the backfield after five years at Alabama.

Robinson might take some time to get up to speed, but he has left the door open. In four games for the Commanders, he has an average of 3.3 yards per carry and has scored two touchdown.
As the Commanders work Robinson into the offense and slowly expand his role, he has an opportunity to become the starter at some point, which would make for a remarkable story since he was in danger less than two months ago.
