Variant cover for Batman #131 by Joe Quesada.

If they don't break off to do their own work, comic book writers and artists tend to work at both DC and Marvel. JoeQuesada, a writer and artist who previously served as the editor-in-chief for Marvel, will soon be joining DC.

During the New York Comic-Con panel for DC's chief creative officer Jim Lee, Quesada stopped by to announce that he will join the house of Detective Comics, which he did art and covers for in the 90s. He was involved in some important imprints for the comics publisher after that. The first one was called "Marvel Knights" in 1998 and focused on low-profile characters. The basis for the Marvel Cinematic Universe was created when he and Bill Jemas collaborated to create the Ultimate Marvel line.

In the case of artists such as Dan Mora, they usually precede being brought on for a full book by drawing variant covers. His first covers will be for Chip Zdarsky and the Batman run. He will be coming on as Mike Hawthorne takes over the job. After revealing in May that he would be leaving the company to work on his own projects, this announcement was made. Kevin Feige became the chief creative officer for Marvel after a restructuring that resulted in him being the executive VP and creative director at the House of ideas.

You will be able to see a new take on Batman with Batman #131 and #132 in January of 2020.
