In England's final warm-up game before hosting the Rugby League World Cup, Dominic Young played a starring role.

Young dived over in the corner for the opener before assisting Kallum Watkins and George Williams with their tries.

Two debutants, Andy and Joe, also crossed for a big lead.

In the second half, Mike McMeeken, Mike Cooper, and Ryan Hall all crossed the line.

The World Cup has been delayed by a year because of the coronaviruses epidemic and will start on October 15th.

Easy evening for England

England have faced the Combined All Stars in mid-season internationals over the past two years but this was their first match against a country on home soil.

The match was not an official Test, but new boy Young showed his potential to be one of the leading lights of the tournament.

He was almost unstoppable when he ran down the right wing and gave the visitors a warning with his first touch, but he couldn't keep hold of the ball as he touched down.

The 6ft 7in winger made up for his mistake by finishing off a good team move which involved a clever over-the- shoulder flick by Williams, who was standing in as captain for the rested Sam Tomkins.

A surprise selection for the World Cup squad, Hooker Ackers scored a try on his home ground, with the ex-Leeds captain converting from Young's incredible show of athletic ability to keep the ball alive.

There were tries for Batchelor, Thompson, McMeeken, Cooper, and Hall, as well as two from Williams.

Wane said that they did some really good things. There was a lot of detail in what we did with the conditions. Overall, it was a good performance, but I'm sure that Fiji will be stronger.

The World Cup is in October and November and the weather is going to be important.

We will have a good week of training and will be ready for the big one next Saturday.

Kevin Naiqama wasn't given an opportunity to show his talents despite the fact that he was a former Saints player.
