The movie trailer that came on after the game was better than the game itself. I don't remember the title but the jubilation I received after I stopped watching the football game made that trailer all the more enjoyable. The smokes are HOLY. The teams were allergic to each other. Two Broncos players tried to steal the ball from one another in the biggest play of the night.
This was the first time in the history of the league that a game with two four-time Pro Bowl quarterbacks never had a touchdown. This was the only game that had a touchdown. There were more than a few turnovers that were recovered by the offense, but they didn't come close to the number of injuries sustained by both teams. Ryan Kelly, Ronald Darby, and a few others. During the game, Russell Wilson had to be checked for a head injury. There were no positives to take away from this game. This wasn't a game of defensive mastery. The quarterback play was terrible. Wilson and Ryan tried to evade pressure by running into D-linemen and holding onto the ball too long.
That doesn't warrant the title of the worst game of all time. What makes this game so ugly? This was a time slot where people were watching. National attention was given to this game. Most of the time there is another game to swap to, but not here, when other low- scoring games occur. Football fans were forced to watch as the game dragged on and on, and didn't end until the fourth quarter.
The average score of an NBA game is 21.9 points. The difference between the league average and this game was -23 points. There was no bad weather, no lack of talent on offense, and no horrible play from either side. Matt Ryan is not what he was two years ago, but he is still a prolific scorer. Two years have passed since Russell Wilson scored 40 touchdown and 4,000 yards. The quarterbacks are still learning the speed of the game. These are people who have been in the military. They served us a tasteless dessert.
In the history of the National Football League, there have only been eight games in which one team has four or more field goals and the other has no touchdown. There was a contest between the Tennessee and Cleveland teams. The year before that, the TITANS went . They went 0-16 The game featured three quarterbacks. Ryan and Wilson had four and three picks, respectively. It's a pity.
Two teams played in a game in 2002 that was as bad as the one we just watched. We didn't have a game like this for fifteen years. We didn't realize how much it meant to us. The eventual Super Bowl champion, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, defeated the Carolina Panther 12-9 in that 2002 game. The game was tied at 9-9 at the start of the 4th quarter, but the Bucs got their offense going as the game wore on, and that was more than either team could say.
Jonathan Taylor and Javonte Williams weren't in the game. It doesn't excuse anything. The offensive line of the Colts was destroyed by D.J. Jones. Ryan Kelly left the game with a hip injury and the Broncos were able to bully him into the backfield. It's just terrible everywhere.
Normally, I would blame the head coaches, but I really think they did a good job. All you want is for Hackett to not run the ball on fourth-and-1 in overtime. After he refused to let Russ cook in Week 1, everyone got angry with him. Wilson was given an opportunity to put the game away, but he couldn't do it. On the final play, Wilson had K.J. Hamler wide open for a touchdown, but the quarterback was focused on Courtland. I don't blame Wilson for looking for his top guy, but Sutton was running a deep in and was playing very physical against Gilmore all night. There was a lot of fighting going on. It will take some time for that route to be developed. Look someplace else while that happens. Look at your second read once. Wilson didn't After the game ended, Hamler slammed his helmet to the ground.
The game was horrible. I would rather watch my conception than watch that game. We will have Commanders-Bears next week. It will be better. Please let me know if the sarcasm reads through here. The editor said that it does.
