Several references were made to Apple and the iPhone 14 during the launch event.
At yesterday's event, which was held at the company's headquarters in Mountain View, Calif., it was announced that there would be three new products: a watch, a phone and a device. Some of the people who presented at the event took jabs at Apple and the announcements they made.
Brian Rakowski, a vice president of product management, said thatPixel has always been a leader in innovation. "We take it as a compliment when others in the industry follow our lead, like the always-on display and At a Glance, putting useful information right on your lock screen," Rakowski said.
Three years ago, Car Crash Detection was introduced along with other ways to keep you safe. Last month, Apple introduced Car Crash Detection with the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and the latest Apple Watch models, and also brought Safety Check to users for their own personal safety, as well as introducing the latest Apple Watch models. It's an amazing track record of innovative features that were first on the platform.
One of the biggest points of tension between Apple and Google is Apple's refusal to adopt the newer and more common standard for messaging. Despite public calls for it to adopt RCS, Apple continues to limit messaging on its devices to only the standard text messages. Tim Cook said it's not something Apple users want the company to do.
It put pressure on Apple during the event. Most of the industry has adopted RCS as the standard for messaging. We want every device maker to adopt RCS and make texting better for everyone.
