In the wake of an ugly 12-9 overtime loss to the Indianapolis Colts, Russell Wilson did not mince words on his play.

Wilson said that at the end of the day he has to be better. The defense played well tonight. It's not possible to throw two picks at the end of the day. It's not possible. I let my teammates down.

When the Broncos had a chance to put the game away, Wilson threw his second pick six. His throw on fourth-and-inches from the Colts' 6-yard line in overtime was the final play of the game.

The Broncos decided to go for the win with over two minutes left in overtime rather than get a first down and then throw for a potential winning touchdown.

There was a good play call. Wilson said that the guy made a great play. I was prepared to leave if I had to. We decided to go for it. We did not want to end in a tie. I need to find a way to play.

Wilson was out of sorts for most of the night, as he was 21-of-39 for 274 yards with no touchdown and two picks. In the first half, he was just 9-of 17 passing.

The Broncos have failed to score a touchdown in the red zone in their three home games. They entered the night last in the league in red zone scoring and will not climb the rankings after Thursday.

Wilson threw two picks in the fourth quarter, one on a play that started in Colts territory and the other on a play that started outside Colts territory.

We thought we should have won that game. Wilson said that he let them down.

There are a lot of opportunities left. The bad is not as bad as the good. It should have been a win for us. It is on me.

Several of Wilson's teammates stopped to talk to him as he sat in front of his locker, in full uniform, almost an hour after the game had ended.

The offensive struggles need to be finished and executed. We need to do better. We need to back them up better because defense is fighting their ass off. I did what I could. I didn't want my ass to go off. The offense was able to fight off its attackers.

Wilson was cleared to return after being checked for a concussion in the second half.

He answered all of their questions.

The Broncos had listed Wilson on their injury report with a shoulder injury.

Wilson said it was having negative plays. It is on us. We are the players. I start it with me. It's not on any one of the other people.
