Stephen A.: Draymond throwing punch at Poole 'much ado about nothing' (1:02)

Stephen A. Smith doesn't care about the altercation between Draymond Green and Jordan Poole. There is a time and a place for this.

The general manager of the Golden State Warriors said that Draymond Green apologized to the team.

Any possible discipline would be handled internally. Steve Kerr said that Green will be away from the team on Friday and that he expects him to come back on Saturday.

Green is not expected to miss any games for the altercation.

The team is lucky that no one got hurt, according toMyers. These things happen in sports. People don't like it. It happened but we don't condone it.

"Draymond apologized to the team this morning, Jordan was in the room and we heard that."

Green didn't practice and went home after he spoke to the team, but that's fine with me.

Sources said that Green threw a punch at Poole.

Sources said that the two players had been arguing before Green swung and hit Poole.

The emotional leader of the Warriors has been the fiery Green. He has been willing to get into it with his teammates. "Draymond is absolutely a leader on this team, and there is a tough love element to every team, that's what I'm saying."

I'm not going to deny it. It will take some time to move through, but we will move through it and move forward. Some of the guys on the team have been here a long time.

We've been through some of this before and this isn't our first thing that has happened. It is part of the NBA and it is part of sports.

One day before the defending NBA champion open the season at home against the Lakers, the team is in talks about a contract extension with its player.

The contract situation of both Andrew and Poole was not on their minds going into the preseason. I don't sense that this is about who's getting paid and who isn't, that's what he said. Throughout the camp, Kerr praised the spirit of the man.

Golden State is back in the Bay Area this week after a couple of preseason wins in Japan against the Wizards.

The incident won't have a long-term affect on the team.

"First of all, you want to make sure everyone's okay; that's the top thing," he said. How do you move on after that? There is a process to these things.
