The senator from Nebraska is leaving the Senate to take a job at the University of Florida.

According to NBC and Politico, the senator is likely to step down by the end of the year. The University of Florida is in the process of finding a new president.

Shortly afterwards, the senator confirmed the news. He followed up with a post about how excited he is to take the university job, after he had not commented on the report.

He said that he had been a hot ticket among institutions that wanted to hire him.

He said that he and his wife had been pursued by institutions but had resisted being named a finalist. The University of Florida is different and I think it's the most interesting university in America.

The senator didn't say when he would resign.

He won't be up for reelection until the year 2026. The governor of Nebraska will have to appoint a new one.
