The theme of the C hosen family has been in the life of the man. In his first feature film, Fire Island, the multi-hyphenate starred, wrote, and co-produced. The film adaptation of Pride & Prejudice with a queer spin was released in June and it was well received by the LGBTQ+ community. Booster was praised by critics and viewers for his depiction of Asian characters with complexity and nuances. Booster thinks we should be demanding more than just representation. It isn't representation at all if there isn't depth and more.

Booster released a stand-up special, Psychosexual, and co-stars in an Apple TV+ comedy with Maya Rudolph and Michaela Jae Rodriguez. He talked about his relationship with his adoptive parents and other topics in his special.

Booster has said in the past that his sexuality became something in his life that we didn't talk about because he was raised in an evangelical lifestyle. Booster regretted not being able to introduce his father to someone or figure out where he stood in his life after his father's death. He felt more secure in his relationship when he started dating his current partner, because he had a touching phone conversation with his mother.

Booster said that working through his strained relationship with his parents made him realize how important the people in his life were. You have to find the people who can pick up the slack if your family can't be everything for you.
