People travel to the Caribbean to visit the island of Aruba. Why would it not be? It's an ideal vacation spot due to its beautiful beaches, mild weather and location outside of the hurricanes. The destination has a beautiful desert landscape that is great for hiking, ATV riding and cave exploration.

The island is on its way to recover from the Pandemic. Last year, it welcomed almost 2 million visitors, and the minister of tourism reported that the number had recovered from the previous year's record high.

Travelers in the Caribbean are looking for unique hotel amenities and personalized experiences. Many travelers want adults only programming. The Tradewinds Club is an adults-only "resort within a resort" experience.

I went to Aruba to see the exclusive offer. After an easy three-hour flight from Miami, I spent less than 30 minutes going through customs and took a 15-minute taxi ride to the Aruba Marriott Resort.

The lobby of the resort made a strong first impression, with soaring ceilings, stylish seating, and sleek wood coffee tables.

The concierge and check-in desk at the Tradewinds made the vacation experience even better.

There are more than 400 rooms at the Marriott Resort and the largest casino and spa on the island.

There is a separate towel hut for Tradewinds guests at the resort's palm tree lined beach. The food and drink service was something I liked.

The Tradewinds Club launched a Peaceful Palapas service that includes a palapa rental, a fruit platter, and a meditation session.

Sushi, seafood and steak

The resort has a number of restaurants and bars.

I ate Caribbean sushi rolls and a signature cocktail from the Lobby on my first night at the resort. A full-service Starbucks is located in the lobby of the resort.

Guests can enjoy delicious seafood on beautifully prepared beachfront tables at Atardi. It's one of the best things to eat at sunset with your toes in the sand.

I took most meals at the hotel's on-site restaurants, but Tradewinds members also get complimentary light meals five times a day and access to an open bar from 6pm to 9pm daily.

The rooms at Tradewinds Club overlook Palm Beach. The guest rooms at the hotel are decorated with turquoise walls and dark wood.

There was a walk-in closet in the large bathroom. I had plenty of room to drink my coffee on my balcony because my room overlooked the beach and adults-only pool.

The right mix of beaches, exciting activities and great food is what Aruba has to offer. The exclusive Tradewinds Club at the Marriott Resort and Stellaris Casino makes it an ideal choice for girls or guys who want to take a break from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Rewarding off-resort exploration

I couldn't resist doing some island exploration because there was so much to occupy me at the resort.

I had a chance to sample the cuisine and activities of the island. Linda's Dutch Pancakes is one of the places I like to eat. A few minutes from the hotel, the casual diner provided a taste of Dutch culture with pizza-sized pancakes with sweet or salty flavors like bacon, cheese, or strawberries and whipped cream.

The new restaurant on the Oranjestad Marina boardwalk serves pork chops and lobster tails.

There is a fascinating history behind one of the most popular exports in the country.

Exploring the desert on a utility vehicle was one of the highlights of my off- resort adventures. I took a half-day excursion through De Palm Tours that included a guided off-road tour of Arikok National Park, a stop at the California Lighthouse, and a visit to a rock formation.
