The summer schedule is coming together nicely. A few days ago the airline announced a new route between Dublin and Cleveland, and now they have returned service to Hartford.
Direct flights to Connecticut will be resumed by Aer Lingus in the years to come. There will be a daily seasonal service between Dublin and Hartford between March 26 and October 28. The flight's schedule will be listed below.
The flight from Dublin to Hartford arrives at 4:30PM and leaves at 6PM.
The flight is blocked at 7 hours and 15 minutes. Aer Lingus will use an airplane for the service. Business class seats and economy class seats are included.
Aer Lingus started flying to Connecticut in September of 2016 and stopped in March of 2020. There were a lot of questions as to whether this route would come back.
This will be the only flight out of Connecticut. There are onward connections to 28 destinations in Europe, including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, London, Madrid, Paris, Vienna, and more.
I am not surprised that Aer Lingus has resumed flights to Connecticut. There is a large Irish population in the area, as well as a lot of insurance businesses. This route seems to be a sure bet because of the economics of the A321LR and the ability to connect traffic.
The Cleveland route that is being launched will be year-round, but this route only returns during the summer. The local community is subsidizing the Cleveland service under the condition that it be year-round.
I wrote about Aer Lingus and how they were cutting service in October of 2021. People have been leaving comments on the post begging for Aer Lingus to bring back the route. People will be happy to see this development.
After three years of suspension, Aer Lingus will return to Hartford in the summer of 2023. The airport will be the only place in the world where the route will be operated on a daily basis. It is nice to see this route come back.
What do you think of the return of Aer Lingus?
