This year's Pride events and celebrations were bolder and brighter than in the past. There are more and more exciting destinations around the world where you can be your authentic self as a result of a new era of visibility and advocacy.

The Rainbow Railroad is a nonprofit that supports and rescues individuals of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer (LGBT) community. We doubled down on those efforts.

As sponsors of the Global Freedom Series, we are showcasing some of the best LGBTQ-friendly destinations. At the event in New York City, we will serve themed cocktails inspired by three of our top picks. You don't have to live in New York to experience the flavors of Taiwan.

We have included a few inspired sips for the first three to get you there.

Kaohsiung, Taiwan

Kaohsiung is a less-touristy second city of Taiwan that has become an LGBTQI+ destination. The emergence of the city's queer culture will be celebrated when WorldPride is held.

You don't have to wait until 25 years from now to see the city's LGBTQI+ scene. Same-sex activity is legal in Taiwan as of May 2019. The gay scene in Kaohsiung is less flashy and a bit discreet, so you will have to know where you are going and be ready to get into a gay bar or club. Private Life Gay Bar is one of the top places to check out.

Earl Grey tea, vodka, grapefruit juice, lemon juice and honey are in the cocktail.

Auckland, New Zealand

New Zealand is one of the most closed-off countries during the Pandemic and now is a great time to visit. In New Zealand, visitors to the gay community find a safe place in the progressive way of the country.

New Zealanders are known for their warm, inviting spirit, which is why clubs like G.A.Y. and Family Bar and Club are great places to hang out. Some of the country's most elite and bawdy drag performers can be found at either Phoenix Cabaret or Caluzzi Cabaret. If you want to have fun during the day, you can visit the beaches, islands and rainforests of Auckland.

The drink is a Spiked Apple Cider with apple cider and Bourbon.

There are four new hotels in New Zealand.

Malta

Malta has over 300 days of sunshine, which makes it a great place to visit the gay community. The country is the most progressive in Europe when it comes to the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and intersex people. In 2016 Malta became the first country in Europe to ban conversion therapy and the first country in the world to give equal rights to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and queer community.

There are only a few gay bars and clubs on the island. Michelangelo Club has a hopping scene where dance parties are held late. The Thirsty Barber is a great place for a more refined cocktail scene. In September, is the best time to visit.

The Bajtra has pear juice, honey, gin and soda water.

Points and miles are used to get to Malta.

Belgrade, Serbia

Even though Serbia doesn't top the list of most progressive countries, it's still an enclave for the LGBTQI+ community. The recent string of successful Pride events in Belgrade has proved that the city is worthy of hosting EuroPride 2022.

The Pride info centre is a great place to start your visit to the city. There are a few gay bars and clubs in and around Terazije Square, including Musk Machine, which is the best place for dance parties.

Providence, Rhode Island

Providence is a city with a lot of culture. Brown University and Johnson & Wales University are nearby.

There are a lot of gay watering holes in the city. Mirabar and The Stable are examples of what you can expect in a mainstay bar. Drag events and dance parties can be found at The Dark Lady. Providence will host Rhode Island Pride in the middle of June.

Saugatuck, Michigan

There is only one gay bar in Saugatuck. There is a pool scene, drag bingo, and karaoke at The Dunes. Uncommon Coffee Roasters is a gay-owned watering hole that has been open for over 20 years.

Thessaloniki, Greece

A charming Greek port city just off the Aegean Sea has fostered an emerging LGBTQI+ scene. The city of Thessaloniki has been chosen to host EuroPride 2024.

There are many bars, restaurants, cafes and shops on the street that cater to the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Trans community. Enola and Anothen Cafe Bar are great places to start your exploration of the city.

No one tells you anything about the Greek islands.

Toronto, Canada

In 1995 Canada became the first country in the Americas to add protection for sexual orientation to its constitution. Toronto, the country's largest city, is a hub of the gay community. A variety of shops, restaurants, bars and a queer community center can be found in the Church-Wellesley Village.

During Pride Month in June, The Village is the best place to go. The prime minister of Canada is expected to wave a Pride flag at the parade.

Quito, Ecuador

In the last few years, the rights of gays have improved in the country. Same-sex marriage is legal in the country, but it has a history of banning discrimination based on sexual orientation. Party buses fill the streets nightly and gay nightclubs keep the party going late into the night.

You will need some time to get used to the high altitude if you are going to dance the night away. The altitude of Denver is 5,279 feet above sea level. The Mariscal district is affectionately known by locals as the "Pink Zone". Touch Uio has a dancing floor on Friday and Saturday nights, while Pravda is a karaoke bar where you can meet other people.
